Pollo AI builds guided AI video creation campaigns using OpenAI models

Pollo AI is positioning itself as a shortcut from concept to campaign by using OpenAI models to power a guided production flow that converts rough inputs into finished visuals and short videos. The platform’s approach to AI video creation streamlines creative workflows for creators and marketers, removing much of the technical overhead involved in selecting models and managing multi-step production.

The company, which says it serves more than 26 million users, combines model routing, multimodal generation and template-driven workflows to cut friction across the production pipeline. Pollo AI routes different tasks to different OpenAI models — including GPT-5.6, GPT-6 Astra and GPT-Image-2.5 — choosing among them based on reasoning requirements, speed and cost. That matching logic, the startup reports, has reduced the time users spend choosing or switching models by more than 50% and resulted in roughly 30% of creator sessions starting from video templates or trending-format workflows.

At the heart of the product is Pollo Agent, a guided workflow that expands an initial idea and accompanying visual references into narrative elements such as storylines, scene plans and scripts. According to Pollo’s CTO Peter Zhou, OpenAI’s multimodal models have proven effective at interpreting ambiguous creative inputs. In practice, Pollo AI uses GPT-5.6 for routing and intent understanding, reserving GPT-6 Astra for deeper narrative development and scene revision planning, while GPT-Image-2.5 handles image generation tasks like storyboards and posters.

The platform evaluates models against real user prompts and workflows, measuring output quality, stylistic range, latency, consistency and cost. For image generation the team selected GPT-Image-2.5 for its ability to produce varied characters and to work well with letterforms, a capability important for campaign visuals and poster design. That selection reflects Pollo AI’s emphasis on allocating compute and capability where they deliver the most value in a production pipeline.

Pollo AI’s Marketing Studio includes a Photo to Video Ads tool designed to convert a single still image and a short prompt into a social-format video. The feature is aimed at small businesses and direct-to-consumer brands that need quick, low-cost ad creatives without a full production shoot. Pollo AI cites an example in which a product photo of a fragrance was transformed into an approximately 15-second ad that added textures, warm lighting and close-up shots to convey a luxurious mood — all generated from the single source image and a guided workflow.

The company also highlights higher-concept examples that demonstrate how model-driven workflows can replicate effects normally achieved with larger budgets. One jewelry customer used Pollo Agent and GPT-Image-2.5 to create an editorial-style visual of a model seated beside a cheetah, set against dark drapery and warm lighting to emphasize the pieces. Another beverage brand turned a standard product shot into a whimsical miniature winter landscape featuring a train, small creatures and droplets to communicate a playful brand tone. These case studies are presented as evidence that the same model-driven process can scale across both editorial and imaginative campaign needs.

Pollo AI’s design philosophy centers on reducing trial and error and making creative production more predictable. By automating the steps from a creative brief and visual references to campaign assets, and by reducing the number of decisions needed about which generative model to use, the company aims to shorten production cycles and broaden access to video tools beyond technically trained users. Founder and CEO Bill Zhu described the goal as making video creation tools usable by more people, not just those with production backgrounds.

Looking ahead, Pollo AI expects continued improvements in OpenAI’s models and image-generation capabilities to further normalize AI-driven video as part of routine content creation. The company emphasizes repeatable formats and streamlined workflows as key to reducing the time and resources required to produce campaign-ready images and short ads. For creators and marketers seeking faster turnarounds and fewer technical steps, Pollo AI’s guided approach to AI video creation intends to make generating polished assets a more accessible, predictable task.

As model capabilities evolve, Pollo AI’s combination of routing logic, multimodal generation and template-first workflows offers one practical path toward integrating generative models into everyday creative operations, particularly for teams that need consistent, campaign-ready outputs without building extensive in-house production pipelines.
